mission statement
The West Yellowstone Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) supports projects aimed at tourism development, marketing, advertising, and promotion to benefit West Yellowstone. The Tourism Development Fund may support projects focused on, but not limited to, convention, education, conference, recreational, entertainment and other types of destination events, along with capital improvement, that will generate room nights for lodging facilities large and small.
How quickly time goes by. The West Yellowstone Tourist Business Improvement District just renewed in 2019 for another exciting 10 years. As we plan for the future and sustainability of our premier destination, we have overcome challenges with the ever-changing tourism industry demands.
The pandemic, post-pandemic, coupled with the unpredictability of Mother Nature’s weather patterns, we are continuously presented with challenges that make our destination pivot with the visitor’s needs. We have seen increasing marketing channels over the last 10 years such as the introduction of smart tv, increased social and digital platforms, that can make it challenging to get the marketing and promotion messages in front of our destination visitors.
Our neighbors to the North and South are seeing increased room nights, offering competitive prices, and resulting in loss of market share to our gateway lodging. In order for West Yellowstone to sustain occupancy for winter and summer markets we have made the decision to increase the nighty assessment from $1-$2/night.
Please join us in reviewing and enjoying the printed piece in front of you as we discuss the importance of the WYTBID marketing strategies and campaigns for the assessment increase. All of these efforts have been made possible by the TBID stakeholders, board members, and staff. Your continued support is crucial to the success and sustainability of our premier destination that we all love. We request your signature on the petition provided to allow us to continue promoting West Yellowstone, Montana as a premier community and destination.
Sincerely,
Jeff Schoenhard

Marketing is the heart of the West Yellowstone TBID organization. It is the reason the TBID was created and the motivation for why a volunteer group of lodging property owners and managers is dedicated to its success. The TBID has the ability to promote West Yellowstone as a destination to wider geographies and demographics than individual properties.
